Updates
What's new
Changes to the DAIW app and service. When the DAIW icon in your menu bar offers a new version, download it and replace the app; service changes apply on their own.
Service
- SecurityThe DAIW sign-in page now shows where signing in sends you back. If it is not Claude, ChatGPT or an app on this computer, it warns you; do not sign in unless you meant to connect that app
- SecurityToo many app registrations from one place are now paused for a while
App 0.1.18
- FixedIn Ableton Live, undo and menu commands no longer leave a Live menu open, which made Live look frozen until you clicked elsewhere
App 0.1.17
- NewAbleton Live support (the third DAW): transport, tempo, key, markers, tracks, mixer, sends to return tracks and reverb, EQ, compressor, stereo width, device parameters and presets, instruments, Sounds presets and loop search, audio and MIDI import, region edits, transforms, splits, repeats, section edits, automation, measuring, export and stems. Once, pick DAIW under Live's Settings > Tempo & MIDI > Control Surface and restart Live
- NoteIn Live, measuring, export and automation are recorded while Live plays that stretch (they take the song's length and you hear it). MP3 export, stem splitting and fades are not there yet
- NewBring back what you just played: a performance played without recording comes back onto the armed track (Logic's Flashback Capture, REAPER's retroactive recording, Live's Capture MIDI)
- FixedIn projects started from a Logic template, measuring or exporting the whole song no longer bounces the empty bars after it (up to bar 130)
Service
- NewBring back what you just played: a performance played without recording comes back onto the armed track (Logic's Flashback Capture, REAPER's retroactive recording). Works with the next app update
- ServiceTool descriptions now cover Ableton Live (return tracks as buses, bounces and automation done by recording). Live support arrives with the next app update
App 0.1.16
- NewREAPER now does region edits (quantize, swing, transpose, velocity, mute), MIDI transforms (humanize, crescendo, double speed …), split, repeat and section edits (cut, insert silence, repeat, copy), and audio import with fades
- NewREAPER now swaps instruments, loads plug-in presets (REAPER's stock ones too), searches and runs actions and presses dialog buttons. Only Logic features REAPER has no counterpart for (Session Players, Stem Splitter …) are left
- FixedUndo now takes back sends made in REAPER, and a new send on a track that already had one gets its level right
- FixedIn Logic, composing right after searching patches no longer fails to import the MIDI, and a patch is found right after switching tracks
- ServiceComposing now knows latin (reggaeton, moombahton), and the parts lock together: the bass plays with the kick (dembow tresillo, house off-beats, trap 808), chords move to the nearest voicing with no notes outside the key, and every 8 bars bring a crash and a fill
App 0.1.15
- NewAutomation now rides send levels and plug-in parameters (a compressor's threshold, a filter's frequency …) as well as volume and pan, in Logic and REAPER
- FixedIn Logic, automation drawn across a tempo change now lands on the right bars
- NewThe check mode for reverb and front/back words measures whether the change can actually be heard
- NoteIf you use REAPER, reopen REAPER once after installing the new app: send automation needs the new connection script
App 0.1.14
- New"wetter", "dreamy" and "dry" raise and lower a part's reverb send. With no reverb in the project, a new bus gets the stock reverb (Logic ChromaVerb, REAPER ReaVerbate)
- New"wider" and "narrower" change stereo width (Logic Direction Mixer, REAPER Stereo Enhancer, which leaves the lows alone). The check mode measures how much wider it got; a mono part is left alone with a suggestion to pan it or add a stereo delay
- New"upfront", "present" and "sits back" move a part forward or back with level, EQ and reverb together; "the vocal is buried" brings it forward
- ServiceMix judgment now comes with a ready fix when the mix is wider or narrower than its genre
App 0.1.13
- NewAutomation (volume and pan) in REAPER too, written straight in without playing, unlike Logic; clearing it works as well
- NewStem export, sends (buses) and time signature changes in REAPER
- NewREAPER exports WAV, AIFF, MP3 (320 kbps) and M4A, with normalizing
- NewThe sound-word check mode works on the main output (Stereo Out, master) and for compressor words such as "punchy" and "smooth"
- NoteIf you use REAPER, reopen REAPER once after installing the new app so the new connection script is loaded. DAIW cannot switch REAPER's count-in yet
App 0.1.12
- FixedWith Logic and REAPER both open, DAIW drove Logic even while you worked in REAPER. It now uses the DAW whose window is further in front
- FixedWhen the app is older than a new feature, you are now told to update the app instead of getting an unknown error
- ServiceSound words (shape_sound) gain a check mode (verify): the part is measured before and after, and the EQ steps further or back until "a little warmer" really moved it that far
- ServiceMix checks now know genres: name the style and the master is compared with the loudness of current releases in that genre on YouTube Music and with the usual tone and stereo width of its mixes: loudness for 23 genres (K-ballad, trot, K-OST, K-indie, R&B, jazz, Latin, classical and more), tone for electronic, folk, hip-hop, pop and rock
- ServiceMix measuring (analyze_mix, analyze_tracks) now comes with a judgment: clipping, peaks over the ceiling, an over-squashed master, phase problems, tone unlike your reference track and parts fighting over the low end, each with the numbers behind it and a way to fix it
App 0.1.11
- NewEarly REAPER support: tracks, mixer, plug-ins, tempo, markers, MIDI import, undo and mix measuring now work in REAPER 7. The app installs a connection script into REAPER, which connects on its own from the next REAPER start. Stem export, new sends, automation and MP3 export still work in Logic only
- NewShaping the sound with words such as "warmer" or "too boomy" (EQ and compressor) now works in REAPER too (Channel EQ in Logic, ReaEQ in REAPER)
- NewThe menu item 계정 삭제… (Delete Account) deletes your DAIW account from the app. With an active Pro subscription it asks you to cancel that first
- NewThe chat window asks once whether its conversations may be used to train DAIW's model. You can change it in the menu at any time; conversations are recorded from November 8, and only if you allow it
App 0.1.10
- FixedWhen a service update briefly restarted the server, the app stopped and asked you to sign in again. It now reconnects on its own a few seconds later
App 0.1.9
- NewRate each answer in the chat window with 👍/👎. The buttons show only while usage sharing is on, and ratings are recorded from November 6
- FixedMenu commands such as the Tempo List or markers could not be found while Logic was behind another app
App 0.1.8
- NewChat with DAIW: open a chat window from DAIW in the menu bar and drive Logic with Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or a local model on your Mac (Ollama and the like). Each uses your own API key, kept only in your Mac's keychain. The default model is Claude Sonnet 5.5
- NewIn the chat window, hard-to-undo actions such as recording or undo run only after you allow them
- ServicePlans: Mastering Assistant, plug-in presets and sound words move to Pro (everything stays free during the beta)
- ServicePrivacy policy revised: adds the chat window, and from November 6 the usage record keeps values that group a conversation and the AI model's name
App 0.1.7
- FixedComposing a part at a later bar left a tempo event there, after which changing the tempo was refused
- FixedSection edits left a 120 BPM tempo at their first bar
- FixedWith Cycle on, automation was written at the wrong bars; the start of a short ramp came out off
- FixedMenu commands failed when Logic was started by opening a project from Finder
- FixedWith several events selected in the Tempo List, changing one tempo changed the others too
- FixedExporting stems ended with an error; putting chords on the chord track now and then failed
App 0.1.6
- NewExport: the master as WAV, AIFF, MP3 or M4A (normalize optional) and every track as a stem
- NewArrange: cut, repeat, copy or insert bars across the song, split regions, markers, tempo changes mid-song
- NewSession Players (drums, bass, keys) with complexity, intensity, fills and swing; a region's chords onto the chord track
- NewStem Splitter for vocals, drums, bass and more; Mastering Assistant
- NewAudio file import, Apple Loops search, fades on audio regions
- NewSwing (Q-Swing) and MIDI Transform presets such as humanize and crescendo on existing MIDI regions
- NewPan automation (Pro); listing and loading plug-in presets
- ServiceA dictionary of sound words: “warmer”, “harsh”, “laid back” and others explained as band changes and starting settings
- FixedAsking for a velocity change on an audio region changed a different value
Service
- NewComposing feel: swing %, laid-back or pushed timing (ms), humanizing, sustain pedal, controller curves (CC)
- NewMix judgment: comparison with a reference track and loudness targets per streaming platform
- NewPlans (Free/Pro) and English pages. Pro features stay free during the beta
- ServiceThe wording of requests that change a project is kept with the usage record (see the Privacy Policy)
App 0.1.5
- NewVolume automation (Pro): fades and build-ups recorded while the song plays, read back bar by bar
App 0.1.4
- FixedWith automation shown in Logic, regions were read as another track's
App 0.1.3
- NewPseudonymous usage sharing (on by default, off from the app menu)
App 0.1.2
- FixedOpening the app showed nothing; the app could run twice
App 0.1.1
- NewSign-in kept in the Keychain, opens when you log in to your Mac, tells you about new versions
- ServiceLimits on sign-in attempts
App 0.1.0 · Beta begins
- NewMenu bar app, Claude connector (remote MCP), Google sign-in
- NewComposing, arranging and editing, mixer and plug-ins, patch search, mix measuring, Logic menu commands, safe undo and project copies
